Killogy TPB Review…

"If you’ve not yet experienced the work of Alan Robert, Killogy is a perfect opportunity to jump in with both feet. The story is stellar and is elevated to an even greater height by splashed-out artwork that celebrates the plot’s pure carnage. Personally, I’d love to see this creator’s vision hit the big screen!"Geeks of Doom

ALAN ROBERT’S HIT GRAPHIC NOVEL, “CRAWL TO ME”, LANDS SCREENWRITERS

Crawl to Me: Evil Edgar Edition (IDW) - Cover art by Menton3 New York, NY – (April 24, 2012) The first printing of Alan Robert's critically acclaimed horror graphic novel, Crawl to Me (IDW Publishing), sold out within a week of its release, back in January 2012. As a result, the award-winning publisher will be pressing a special hardcover version this summer, titled Crawl to Me: Evil Edgar Edition. As previously announced, director David A. Armstrong, cinematographer for the successful box-office hit franchise, Saw, is attached to direct a live-action adaptation of Crawl to Me for the big screen. Additionally, screenwriters, David White and T.J. Cimfel have recently signed on to pen the Crawl to Me screenplay. Robert will produce, alongside his partners Jeff Mazzola (Descent) and Christopher White (My Super Psycho Sweet 16 franchise).

"It’s exciting to watch this thing come to life by people who are super passionate about telling this story," says creator, Robert.  “Over the last few months, we’ve received about a dozen different treatments from various writers to adapt the property. I can safely say that T.J. and Dave’s unique take on the material definitely stood out from the rest. We’re extremely proud to announce that they’ve officially joined the team.”

David White and T.J. Cimfel wrote the contained thriller Shut In, which is currently under option at Ombra Films.  Additionally, Cimfel's supernatural thriller No Tell Motel was recently produced by Enderby Entertainment and is scheduled for release in late 2012.

Crawl To Me really appeals to us because it builds a haunting story around an emotional and intelligent core. It has characters you can connect with, yet doesn’t sacrifice any of the visceral thrills you want from a good horror story. It's the perfect combination for us to tackle,” says, White and Cimfel. “The artwork really drew us in. It’s a dark story, but it’s told through these beautiful images that you can’t turn away from. And there’s a cinematic flow to the action—the story’s screaming to be put on the screen.”

The Crawl to Me graphic novel, written and illustrated by the Brooklyn-bred Life of Agony bassist, collected the original 2011 comic series with a painted cover by renowned Monocyte artist, Menton3.  The introduction for the book, was written by Robert's former cartooning teacher and legendary comics artist, Walter Simonson (Thor).

Robert’s upcoming Killogy comic series is slated for an October 2012 release through IDW Publishing. Major announcements coming shortly!

LIFE OF AGONY BASSIST/COMIC BOOK CREATOR - ALAN ROBERT GUEST STARS ON THE SEASON TWO PREMIERE OF TLC'S HIT SERIES "NY INK"

Alan Robert: NY Ink Season Two Premiere New York, NY – (December 20, 2011) - New York native - Alan Robert, best known for being the primary-songwriter/bassist for the respected hard rock group, Life of Agony, and most recently as the creator of the hit comic series’- Crawl To Me and Wire Hangers (IDW Publishing), guest stars on the Season Two premiere of TLC’s NY INK on Thursday, December 29 at 9 PM ET/PT.

The show’s star — Ami James, along with the rest of the Wooster Street Social Club crew, have welcomed celebrity guests into their shop before. Last season, Corey Taylor (lead vocalist of Slipknot and Stone Sour), Method Man (actor and rapper of the Wu-Tang Clan), LaMarr Woodley (linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers) and fashion designer, Robert Vaughn (Von Dutch) all got inked at Wooster St. and told their tattoo stories. On the upcoming Season Two premiere, titled “Kings of NY”, the show kicks off with Robert going under the needle by the program’s female standout tattoo artist — Megan Massacre.

“Wooster St. has some of the most amazing tattoo talent around, so I was thrilled to get my piece done by Megan. Her style is perfect for the ink I chose,” said Robert. “Being on the show was a trip and it was interesting to see, first hand, just what goes into making a hit series like this. I give the artists a lot of credit, too. It’s one thing to deliver kick-ass tattoos day in and day out… but it’s another thing to try and do that with a bunch of cameras jammed in your face. No pressure, right?!”

In related news, Robert’s Crawl To Me (IDW Publishing) graphic novel hits fine bookstores everywhere in January 2012. The book includes the entire, four-issue comic series, with an introduction written by legendary Thor artist, Walter Simonson, as well as a step-by-step glimpse into Robert’s artwork process.
